We’re DualEntry. We’re hiring a Senior Backend Developer to work directly with our co-founders to bring AI to mid-market accounting.

📌 Base salary range $150,000 - $200,000 + significant equity ownership + benefits
Our Founders:
Our Founders started their previous company after meeting in Computer Science class. With just $2,000 in savings, the two bootstrapped the company to $25 million in ARR - and profitably - in just 5 years. They then raised $325 million of venture funding, rapidly scaling the business to 200+ people and >$100 million in ARR. After that first 8-year journey and experiencing the pains of an ‘upgraded’ accounting system first-hand, they have decided what to throw themselves at for the next 8 years: to build DualEntry, the accounting software they needed.

The opportunity is now. Existing accounting softwares have some of the highest revenue-to-NPS ratios (i.e: they're still stuck in the 1990's!)
The opportunity is massive. SAP is 7th largest tech company in the world, Netsuite has revenues of more than $3bn - every fast-growing company eventually outgrows Quickbooks and needs to upgrade to a mid-market accounting software.
We're uniquely positioned to take on this challenge. Few people on this planet have our combination of direct experience, determination and young energy.
The below screenshot is an example of Netsuite, the dominant mid-market ERP software valued at ~$30bn today and acquired by Oracle in 2016:
Accounting in 10 years from today will look very different, and we're excited to create this future!
What You Bring:
6+ yrs of total backend software development experience incl. testing
Experience managing software development complexity long-term in a business-logic heavy project
Experience launching products from start to finish (incl. building CI/CD)
Experience with building and testing APIs
Experience with database management systems, SQL, ORMs, and data migrations
Experience integrating with various 3rd-party, preventing negative outcomes and managing unexpected risks
Experience deploying AWS services
Strong problem-solving, debugging, and analytical skills with great attention to detail
Willingness to work hard and ship product at high velocity, especially on Fridays
Languages: agnostic; bonus for any Python experience incl. Django
