What You Bring:

As our first QA hire, you will have the unique opportunity to establish the QA function for an AI-first SaaS start-up from the ground up, making a full impact on the quality and reliability of our platform. We are seeking a manual QA expert with an appetite for automated QA testing in the near future. You bring:

• 5+ years of experience in Software Quality Assurance, with a focus on web applications and cloud-based services

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field or 5 years of applicable working experience in Software Quality Assurance in lieu of education

• Experience managing long-term software development complexity in business-logic-heavy projects

• Experience in testing at scale including UI and API

• Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and automated deployment processes (e.g., AWS, Git)

• Knowledge of performance testing, using monitoring tools (e.g. Datadog)

• Familiarity with containerization technologies like Docker and Kubernetes

• Proficiency with bug reporting systems like Jira, test case management tools like TestRail, and testing tools such as Selenium, Cypress, Spirent Avalanche, IX Load, or Breaking Point

• Experience programmatically testing products, and implementing software QA best practices

• Demonstrated ability to manage the full QA/Testing Pyramid and make solid decisions on where and how to test

• Experience working with various departments to understand and gather product requirements

• Excellent problem-solving skills with a focus on critical thinking and testability

• High product intuition and user empathy, incl. championing customer feedback post-launch

• Excellent English communication skills, both written and verbal

• Software project management experience, incl. use of modern project management software such as JIRA to organize epics, stories and tickets and track progress

• Willingness to work hard and ship product at high velocity, especially on Fridays

Preferred additional qualifications:

• Proficiency in any programming language

• Familiarity with any frontend framework (e.g. React, Angular, Vue)

• Familiarity with SQL and relational databases (e.g. PostgreSQL)

• Experience developing web-based SaaS products
